RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Dominique Jones scored 10 of his 30 points during a 19-2 run midway through the second half Wednesday as South Florida beat Richmond 79-65 for its sixth straight win.
With the Spiders leading 39-35 following Ryan Butler's tip-in with 13:32 remaining, Jones hit a 3-pointer on the Bulls' next possession to ignite the spurt. South Florida (6-3) scored on seven straight possessions over a 4:08 period while holding Richmond to a field goal by Dan Geriot.
Richmond (4-5) led 31-29 at the end of the first half. Neither team led by more than four during the half.
Jones added 14 rebounds, leading South Florida to a 46-24 edge on the boards. The Bulls were 26-of-32 from the free-throw line, hitting 16 straight during the second half.
Geriot led the Spiders with 17 points, and Butler added 11.
