CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) -- Michael Porrini scored 17 points to lead Western Carolina to an 84-64 victory over North Carolina Central on Wednesday night.

Blake Gallagher added 11 points and 12 rebounds and Brandon Giles added 10 points for the Catamounts (3-5), who snapped a three-game losing streak, with their most recent loss an 86-84 setback at home against the College of Charleston.

Bryan Ayala had 23 points and made 10 of 12 free-throws while Charles Futrell added 18 points to lead N.C. Central (1-10), which has lost all 10 of its road games this season.

The Eagles, playing as an independent in their first season in Division I, have lost four straight since their lone home game of the season, a 73-70 victory against Tennessee Tech on Nov. 21.

Western Carolina outrebounded N.C. Central 46-32 and scored 24 second-chance points.
