CHICAGO (AP) -- Josh Mayo hit five of six 3-point attempts in a 29-point performance that led Illinois-Chicago to a 91-73 win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Thursday night.
Robert Kreps added 14 points and Scott VanderMeer had 10 points and four blocks for Illinois-Chicago (4-4), which shot 60 percent from the field for the game. The Flames also had 13 3-pointers compared with three 3-pointers for Wisconsin-Milwaukee (3-5).Torre Johnson had a game-high 30 points for the Panthers in the losing effort. Deonte Roberts and Rickey Franklin each added nine points.Wisconsin-Milwaukee led by as many as seven points early in the first half but could not keep up with Illinois-Chicago, which led 44-32 at the break. The Flames bench outscored the Panther bench 30-16.
