CHICAGO (AP) -- Mike Schachtner scored a game-high 20 points to lead Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 69-63 win over Loyola of Chicago Thursday in the Horizon League opener for both teams.
Terry Evans had 16 points and Ryan Tillema added 11 points for Wisconsin-Green Bay (6-2, 1-0), which held off a late rally with a 21-9 edge in free throws, including eight in the final two minutes.The Phoenix led throughout, including a 38-31 halftime lead and 50-39 advantage with 11 minutes left. But Loyola of Chicago (2-5, 0-1) fought back, cutting the lead to three points several times in the second half.J.R. Blount led the Ramblers with 17 points. Tracy Robinson added 13 points and Andy Polka chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds for the Ramblers.
