Ricky Harris added 18 points for Massachusetts (6-2), which outscored the Red Foxes 31-10 in the final 8:30 to snap Marist's five-game win streak.
The game was tied at 32 at intermission. Marist took its largest lead of the game at 58-52 with 8:15 left in the game on a Spongy Benjamin lay-up.
Harris tied the game at 58-58 with 6:36 left when he converted a driving lay-up off a Lowe steal, and the Minutemen retook the lead 30 seconds later when Forbes converted the fourth of four straight free throws.
Etienne Brower's 3-pointer with 3:39 left gave Massachusetts a 70-60 lead, capping an 18-2 run.
