GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Kyle Hines had 16 points, 10 rebounds and tied a school record with seven blocked shots to lift UNC Greensboro to a 75-63 victory over winless Furman on Saturday night.
Kendall Toney had three second-half 3-pointers as the Spartans (4-4, 1-1 Southern Conference) had to rally past the Paladins (0-8, 0-3) for their first league victory.
Hines, a senior, had his 58th straight game with at least 10 points and surpassed his best-ever blocks performance set last week in a win over Wofford.
Hines has 17 blocks his past three games.
Still, the Spartans trailed 40-36 early in the second half. Toney put the Spartans in front, 43-41, with a 3-pointer with 14:12 to go. Toney added another from long range that increased the lead to 56-51 and was part of a 9-0 run that put the game out of reach.
Furman has not opened a season with eight consecutive losses since 1944-45.
Noah States led the Paladins with 16 points. But only two of those came after halftime.
