AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Nick Dials scored 21 points to lead Akron to a 88-70 victory over North Carolina A&T on Wednesday night.
Quade Milum added 14 points and Nate Linhart contributed 10 for the Zips, who piled on North Carolina A&T 49-31 in the first half. The strong half enabled Akron (8-2) to cruise past North Carolina A&T despite an evenly matched second half with the teams each scoring 39 points.
Akron shot nearly 46 percent from the field, but was able to gain ground with 53 percent (8-15) shooting from behind the 3-point line in the first half while North Carolina A&T could only manage 22 percent (2-9) from behind the arc in the opening half.
Akron's bench outscored North Carolina A&T's reserves 36-19.
