TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Richard Hendrix had 19 points and 13 rebounds to help lead Alabama to a 93-79 win over Chicago State Friday night.
The Crimson Tide (11-4), coming off a 26-point loss to No. 19 Clemson Tuesday, easily dominated the Cougars (5-13).
Trailing 25-24, Alabama went on an 18-3 run late in the first half to bolt to an 11-point lead with 27 seconds left in the period. Chicago State's David Holston hit a 3-pointer just before the buzzer to bring the score to 42-34 going into the break.
Chicago State never led in the second half.
Mykal Riley had a 3-pointer to give Alabama an 18-point lead, at 82-64, with 2:17 to go. Then Chicago State went on a 13-3 run and whittled the lead to eight points on a free throw by Christian Wall with 47 seconds left. Alabama closed the game on an 8-2 run to finish with a 14-point lead.
Holston led Chicago State with 24 points and Tawrence Walton added 19.
This was the final game before the Tide opens Southeastern Conference play against two-time defending national champion Florida next Tuesday.
