TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Richard Hendrix had 19 points and 13 rebounds to help lead Alabama to a 93-79 win over Chicago State Friday night.

The Crimson Tide (11-4), coming off a 26-point loss to No. 19 Clemson Tuesday, easily dominated the Cougars (5-13).

Trailing 25-24, Alabama went on an 18-3 run late in the first half to bolt to an 11-point lead with 27 seconds left in the period. Chicago State's David Holston hit a 3-pointer just before the buzzer to bring the score to 42-34 going into the break.

Chicago State never led in the second half.

Mykal Riley had a 3-pointer to give Alabama an 18-point lead, at 82-64, with 2:17 to go. Then Chicago State went on a 13-3 run and whittled the lead to eight points on a free throw by Christian Wall with 47 seconds left. Alabama closed the game on an 8-2 run to finish with a 14-point lead.

Riley had 18 points for Alabama. Alonzo Gee had a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Rico Pickett and Brandon Hollinger chipped in with 14 points apiece.

Holston led Chicago State with 24 points and Tawrence Walton added 19.

This was the final game before the Tide opens Southeastern Conference play against two-time defending national champion Florida next Tuesday.
