GREELEY, Colo. (AP) -- Jabril Banks had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Thanasi Panagiotakopoulos added a season high 15 points as Northern Colorado upset defending Big Sky Conference champion Weber State 55-52 Sunday.
Northern Colorado improved to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play, tying its total number of conference wins from a year ago, its first season in the league.
With 52 seconds left, Panagiotakopoulos hit a 3-pointer to give the Bears a 50-49 lead.
Panagiotakopoulos and Banks combined for five free throws, and the Bears held Weber State (5-8, 0-1) to a 3-pointer the rest of the way for the win.
The Bears trailed 27-24 at halftime after shooting 30 percent from the field. Weber State made just 34.5 percent of its shots from the field in the half.
Kellen McCoy was the lone Weber State scorer to hit double digits with 13 points.
