NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Niko Scott scored 15 points as Columbia beat the New Jersey Institute of Technology 64-52 on Saturday, extending the Highlanders losing streak to 22 games.

Mack Montgomery added 11 points for Columbia (7-8), which never trailed and held several double-digit leads during the game. Kraig Peters had 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals for the Highlanders (0-18), who only began playing NCAA Division 1 basketball last season.

Columbia opened the game with a 6-0 run and led 26-15 at the break, as NJIT went just 2-20 from the floor in the first half. Peters then hit a 3-pointer to start the second half, but the Highlanders would not get any closer than eight points down for the remainder of the game.

NJIT's last win came on Feb. 19, 2007, when they beat Longwood.
