POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- Four players scored in the double digits, leading Portland State University to a 71-61 win over Idaho State on Sunday.
The game featured six ties and eight lead changes. In the first half, PSU trailed by as many as seven points, but came back to take a 32-31 lead at halftime after a 3-point shot at the buzzer by Tiefenthaler.
The game remained tight in the second half, but with just over nine minutes remaining and the Vikings leading 51-47, Huff scored on a driving layup, was fouled and made the free throw to put the Vikings up by seven.
ISU could never pull to closer than six points the rest of the game, trailing by double-digits most of the final four minutes.
ISU was undone by turnovers: 19 to the Vikings' 12. Portland State won the rebounding battle 36-32.
