DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Steven Rush sank two points after a technical foul was called on the Delaware State bench, and North Carolina A&T defeated Delaware State 63-61 Monday night.
The game was tied five times, with three of them coming in the final five minutes of the game.
The Hornets' Trevor Welcher connected on a three-pointer, tying the score at 61-61 with 1.2 seconds left in the game when the technical foul was called.
Welcher gave the Hornets (6-10, 3-1 MEAC) a three-point lead 55-52 on a three pointer with 3:08 left, but Ed Jones scored the next six points for the Aggies (8-9, 3-2), giving them a 58-55 lead with 1:09 left.
Roy Bright sank a three-pointer with 42 seconds left for 58-58 tie, but the Aggies' Austin Ewing answered with a three-pointer with 13 seconds left for 61-58 lead. Bright followed with a three-point try and off a rebound, Welcher scored another game-tying three.
The Aggies were led by Jones with a game-high 24 points, and Steven Rush who scored 13.
Bright led the Hornets with 23 points and four rebounds. Donald Johnson added 11 points.
