STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -- Junior Salters scored 18 points and Noah Dahlman added 17 to lead Wofford to an 86-79 win over Georgia Southern on Thursday night.
The Eagles (12-7, 5-4 Southern Conference) controlled most of the first half, taking a 37-29 halftime lead. Georgia Southern took a 41-33 lead with 18:29 left in the game on a 3-pointer by
Anthony Marshall.
But the Terriers (10-8, 3-5) went on a 16-6 run in a five minute span, claiming a 49-47 lead. Salters scored six points and Godzinski had five points during the spurt.
Wofford never trailed the rest of the game, building its largest lead at 75-62 with 2:08 remaining on Salters' layup.
Godzinski scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Terriers, while
Drew Gibson had 13 points.
Louis Graham led Georgia Southern with 26 points and eight rebounds.
Dwayne Foreman and
Antoine Johnson each scored 11 points.
