Chattanooga 66, Furman 63

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Stephen McDowell hit a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left to give Chattanooga a 66-63 win Thursday over Furman.

Chattanooga (15-9, 10-4 Southern Conference) held Furman (4-19, 3-11) to without a field goal in the last 1:56. McDowell's winning shot broke a 63-all tie.

McDowell finished with 14 points, second only to Nicchaeus Doaks with 20. Marcus Watts had 12.

Furman was led by Justin Dehm and reserve George Brozos with 15 points each, and Noah States with 13.

Chattanooga controlled the boards 46-34 and led 31-27 at halftime.
