WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- Daniel Fountain scored 23 points, going 5-for-6 from 3-point range, as North Carolina-Wilmington beat William & Mary 77-64 Wednesday night.
The Seahawks (16-10, 9-5 Colonial Athletic Association), shot 50 percent from the field, including 41 percent from 3-point range. UNC-Wilmington outrebounded the Tribe 41-29 and limited its opponent to 38.7 percent field goal shooting.
Danny Sumner hit a 3-point shot to help William & Mary (13-11, 9-5) tie the score at 23 with 6:05 left before the half. Montez Downey rebounded a miss and connected on a 3-pointer with 5:08 left to give the Seahawks the lead for good.
UNC-Wilmington led 37-28 at the break and was up by no less than eight points throughout the second half.
