ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- John Ford scored 32 points and made six 3-pointers to lead McNeese State to a 74-69 road win over Texas-Arlington on Saturday.
Ford made all six of his free throws and hit 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. Overall, McNeese State made 57 percent of its 3-pointers, including 5-of-8 in the second half and 12-of-21 overall.
Besides Ford, no other Cowboy scored in double figures. Kleon Penn added seven points, seven blocks and five rebounds for Mcneese State (10-12, 4-6 Southland). Penn had eight blocks in his previous game, giving him 15 in his last two outings.
The Mavericks shot 40 percent from the field and 30 percent from 3-point range.
