Stetson 75, Mercer 73

MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Garfield Blair scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Stetson held off a late rally in a 75-73 win over Mercer on Saturday night.

The Hatters (13-14, 8-5 Atlantic Sun Conference) took a 45-26 lead with 16:35 left in the game on a 3-pointer by Tim Lang.

Mercer (11-15, 6-7) rallied and outscored Stetson 29-11 over the next nine minutes, trimming the lead to 56-55. James Florence, who finished with 33 points, led the spurt with 16 points, connecting on four 3-pointers.

Stetson went ahead 70-64 with 38 seconds left in the game. The Bears cut the lead to two points with 17 seconds remaining on Florence's 3-pointer, but Mercer would pull no closer.

A.J. Smith scored 13 points for the Hatters, while Kris Thomas had 12 and Mark Lohuis added 11.

Aaron Shaddean scored 14 points and Brian Pfohl had 10 for Mercer.
