NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Reserve Gerald Robinson scored 17 points as Tennessee State remained alive for the Ohio Valley Conference tourney with a 73-69 victory Monday over Austin Peay.
Tennessee State (12-15, 9-9 OVC) rallied from a 42-33 halftime deficit and kept Austin Peay (18-10, 14-4) from clinching the outright OVC regular season title. The Governors already have wrapped up a share of the championship.The OVC tourney will include the top eight teams during the regular season.Jerrell Houston, another reserve for Tennessee State, added 13 points while Bruce Price had 12 and Reiley Ervin had 10.Tennessee State went ahead by 11, 69-58 with 4:08 left, then held off an Austin Peay rally. Austin Peay got to within 3 in the last minute.Todd Babington led Austin Peay with 21. Derek Wright had 16 and Fernandez Lockett 11.
