Cal Poly-SLO 70, UC Riverside 63

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) -- Cal Poly forced overtime on Titus Shelton's putback with 4.5 seconds left and held on to defeat UC Riverside 70-63 Thursday night.

Shelton's putback came after Trae Clark missed his shot in the waning seconds and tied the game at 57-57. Both teams then went to the floor to haul in the rebound and Cal Poly (11-15, 6-7 Big West) gained possession on the jump ball.

UC Riverside (7-18, 3-10) had a chance to win it at the buzzer but Larry Cunningham's 3-pointer missed to the left.

The teams traded buckets three times in the first 3 minutes of overtime with Cal Poly taking the lead for good, 64-61, after Shawn Lewis scored three points.

Lorenzo Keeler led the Mustangs with 22 points, while Dreshawn Vance added 19.

Cunningham led the Highlanders with 19 points.
