FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) -- Tristan Blackwood scored a game-high 32 points on 11-of-14 shooting to lead Central Connecticut past Sacred Heart, 100-87, in the regular season's final game Sunday.
The Pioneers (16-13, 13-5) led marginally early on, but Blackwood converted on a 3-pointer with 0:53 to go in the first and put Central Connecticut in front 44-43, and for good.
Blackwood gave the Blue Devils their first double-digit lead with a lay-up 4:27 into the second and with 9:02 left, Palmer hit a 3-pointer to give them a 75-60 advantage.
Central Connecticut shot 0.661 from the floor and out-rebounded Sacred Heart, 39-26.
The third-seeded Pioneers will host the sixth-seeded Blue Devils again on Thursday for the first round of the Northeast Conference tournament playoffs.
