PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) -- Andrew Hayles scored 16 points and Joel Bosh hit a couple of key free throws with 10 seconds left Monday night to give Alabama State a 61-57 victory over Prairie View.
Alabama State (17-9, 13-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led throughout much of the game, but Prairie View cut the lead to two with 22 seconds left on a layup by Jacoie Shivers. Jamarr Sanders answered with two free throws to make it 59-55. Derek Johnson's layup with 11 seconds left made it a two-point game again and Bosh went to the line to make his two free throws.Johnson missed a layup with six seconds left.Chief Kickingstallionsims scored 10 points for Alabama State.Johnson led Prairie View (7-21, 5-11) with 15 points and 10 assists. Aaron Smith added 14.Alabama State led 33-27 at the half.
