Associated Press
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Markel Humphrey and Tirrell Baines had 20 points each but it was Mark Dorris' jump shot with three seconds left that decided Marshall's 70-68 come-from-behind victory over Tulane on Wednesday.
Dorris had 14 of his 16 points in the second half as the Thundering Herd (16-12, 8-7 C-USA) erased a deficit that was 35-28 at halftime and 40-28 when Marshall coach Donnie Jones was ejected for a pair of technical fouls with 17:10 left.
Assistant Shawn Finney, who coached Tulane from 2000-05, coached the rest of the game for Marshall.
Kevin Sims made three of the four foul shots awarded for Jones' technicals, and Tulane led 43-28.
But Marshall, which made only 35.7 percent of its shots in the first half, sank 65 percent in the second while Tulane, which shot 54.2 percent in the first half, made 34.5 in the second.
David Gomez had 14 points for Tulane (15-14, 5-10). Sims added 13 points and three steals;
Robinson Louisme had 11 points and
Eric Vianney 10.
Tyler Wilkerson had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Herd.
