CULLOWHEE, N.C.-- Brandon Giles led seven Western Carolina players in double figures as it defeated Toccoa Falls 120-62 on Thursday night.
Giles scored 21 points, including 14 in the second half.
Harouna Mutombo added 14 points for the Catamounts (1-1), followed by
Adrian Gailliard with 14,
Jake Robinson with 12,
Brigham Waginger and
Greg Avery with 11 and Richi Gordon with 10. Avery also had five assists and five steals for the Catamounts.
Western Carolina held the edge on inside scoring as it out scored Taccoa Falls 76-20 in the paint. The Catamounts capitalized on 26 Eagle turnovers, turning them into 29 points, including 22 on the fast-break.
