MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Bateko Francisco hit a jumper with 2.7 seconds remaining and Robert Morris rallied from a 23-point second-half deficit to beat Youngstown State 74-72 Tuesday night.
Jeremy Chappell scored 20 points and Jimmy Langhurst added 13 for Robert Morris (2-3), which trailed by 15 points at halftime.Vytas Sulskis led Youngstown State (1-3) with 24 points. Kelvin Bright added 17 and Sirlester Martin scored 13.Youngstown State raced to an early lead on the strength of 16-for-27 shooting in the first half, including 5-for-8 from 3-point range and led by 23 points with just over 16 minutes left in the second half.Robert Morris relied on balanced scoring in the second half to make its comeback. Langhurst scored all of his points in the second session. Francisco scored all nine of his points in the second half to help fuel the comeback.Francisco tied the game at 67-all with a free throw with 3:03 left, and Youngstown State needed a 3-pointer by Sulskis with 38 seconds remaining to forge a 72-all tie before Francisco hit the winner.
