JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Jeremy Bynum scored 24 points and Jacksonville State held previously high-scoring VMI well under its season average in a 95-67 rout Saturday night.

The Keydets (4-2), who had scored more than 100 points in three of their five previous games and 97 points in the other two, trailed 47-20 at halftime.

Jacksonville State (4-1), coming off one of its biggest wins in program history -- Monday night's 75-74 win over Massachusetts -- made 60.9 percent of its shots (39 of 64) compared to 32.9 percent for VMI (23 of 70).

Geddes Robinson added 20 points for the Gamecocks and Brandon Crawford chipped in 18.

Chavis Holmes led VMI with 20 points and Austin Kenon had 12. Willie Bell, who was averaging 10.2 points per game, was 0-for-7 and fouled out.

The Keydets were trying to start the season 5-1 for the first time since 1977-78.
