RICHMOND, Ky. -- Jeffrey McClain had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead Murray State to a 58-50 win over Eastern Kentucky on Thursday night.
The Racers (5-1, 1-0 Ohio Valley Conference) outscored the Colonels 20-7 in the final 13:49 and snapped a four-game losing streak against Eastern Kentucky in the conference opener for both teams.
Danero Thomas and Isaac Miles followed McClain with 11 points each for the Racers.
Murray State trailed 43-38 with 13:49 left and overcame two lead changes and two ties before the decisive spurt.
The Colonels trimmed the margin to one point three times in the opening half, but Murray maintained the lead and held a 31-27 advantage at the break.
Papa Opping led the Colonels with a career-high 19 points, scoring 11 of those in the first half. Josh Taylor followed with 11 points.
