BALTIMORE -- Bilal Benn scored a career-high 23 points, Benson Egemonye added 21 points and nine rebounds, and Niagara opened its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schedule with a 91-75 victory over Loyola, Md., on Sunday.

Anthony Nelson had a career-best 20 points and Demetrius Williamson and Tyrone Lewis had 10 apiece for the Purple Eagles (6-1, 1-0), who began a stretch of six road games in 27 days with their fifth straight triumph over the Greyhounds (2-7, 0-2).

Brett Harvey led Loyola with 27 points, but couldn't prevent the Greyhounds' fourth consecutive defeat. Jamal Barney and Marquis Sullivan added 13 points each.

Loyola, which allowed a season high in points, never recovered from a 3-for-11 start from the field. Niagara sprinted to a 23-9 lead.

The Greyhounds got within 65-57 on Harvey's two free throws with 10:21 left before a 12-5 Niagara run capped by Williamson's 3-pointer with 4:50 remaining.
