SEATTLE -- Washington, playing without leading scorer Jon Brockman, used a balanced attack led by Matthew Bryan-Amaning to hold off a late charge by Portland State for an 84-83 victory on Sunday.

Bryan-Amaning led the Huskies (6-3) with career highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds. Quincy Pondexter added 21 points, Justin Dentmon had 20 and Isaiah Thomas scored 16.

Pondexter made a critical tipin with 26 seconds left to thwart the Vikings (7-2) down the stretch.

Dominic Waters led Portland State with 19 points. Jeremiah Dominguez had 16.

Brockman, a senior forward who leads the team in scoring average at 16.8 points and rebounding at 11.4, sprained his right ankle during Saturday's practice and was unable to play.

With the Huskies leading 82-80 with five seconds left, Dentmon sealed the game with a pair of free throws. Waters made a desperate 3-pointer at the buzzer to finish it.
