DEKALB, Ill. -- Carlton Fay scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds to lead Southern Illinois to a 73-58 win over Northern Illinois on Wednesday night.
Bryan Mullins had 14 points and three rebounds for the first road win of the season for Southern Illinois (4-5). Tony Boyle added nine points, making five of seven free throws.The Salukis never trailed in the game and shot 59 percent from the field. Southern Illinois led 38-28 going into the break and scored 35 points in the second period. The team made 26 of 44 field goal attempts.Darion Anderson led Northern Illinois (4-7) with 12 points. Michael Patton came off the bench to score 12 points and Sean Smith added another eight.The Huskies made 42 percent of their shots, completing 22 of 53 field goal attempts.
