BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Northeastern took advantage of 21 Indiana turnovers and got 17 points from Matt Janning to pull off their first win over a Big Ten team in more than 17 years Monday night, 55-42.
The Huskies (6-4, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Conference) have now won three straight -- all on the road -- and visit national runnerup Memphis next.
Indiana (5-6), in contrast, started fast, fizzled out and started pressing itself into even more mistakes. The Hoosiers were led by Tom Pritchard, who had 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Devan Dumes with 13 points including a 3-pointer with 26 seconds left -- just enough to avoid Indiana's first sub-40 point game since Jan. 27, 1951.
