CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Mike Scott notched a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 15 boards, to lead Virginia in a 74-48 win against Hampton on Tuesday night.
Sammy Zeglinski, who was 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, added 11 points for the Cavaliers (5-4). Jamil Tucker chipped in with 10 points.Vincent Simpson's 10 points and seven rebounds led the Pirates (5-5), who shot 28.8 percent from the field (19 of 66) in the loss.The Cavaliers shot 40.3 percent in the game (25 of 62) and hit 17 of 20 free throws. The Pirates hit just five of their 12 shots from the line.Virginia, which led 38-27 at halftime, opened the game on a 19-6 run and cruised to victory from there. Scott scored 10 points in the first half for the Cavaliers, who tallied 10 team blocks in the contest.
