NATCHITOCHES, La. -- Rodney Haddix II and Eric Pollitz scored 16 points apiece and Miami (Ohio) withstood a late rally from Northwestern State for a 69-68 win on Tuesday night.
Tyler Dierkers, who had 10 points and eight assists, scored on a tip-in with 2:13 left to put the RedHawks (7-4) up 69-64.
It was the last time Miami scored as the RedHawks missed two free throws and a shot, and committed two turnovers in the final minutes.
During that stretch, the Demons (8-6) scored four points but missed a layup in the final seconds.
Michael Bramos also scored 13 points for the RedHawks and Pollitz was 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and dished out four assists.
Devin White led the Demons with 15 points.
