FARMVILLE, Va. -- Ryan Bogan scored a career-high 25 points to lead Longwood to an 86-76 victory over Savannah State on Saturday.
Kevin Swecker added 19 points for the Lancers (8-10), who are seventh in Division I in turnover margin (5.6 a game), forced 27 turnovers to win for the first time in three games. Longwood committed 17 turnovers.
Leading 41-36 at halftime, Longwood opened the second half on a 6-0 run for a 47-36 advantage with 18:30 remaining.
Savannah State (9-9), which had won two straight games, cut the lead to 77-73 on Tracy Rankins' layup with 1:41 left, but Swecker hit a 3-pointer for an 80-73 advantage and Longwood sealed the win at the line.
