Longwood 86, Savannah St. 76

FARMVILLE, Va. -- Ryan Bogan scored a career-high 25 points to lead Longwood to an 86-76 victory over Savannah State on Saturday.

Kevin Swecker added 19 points for the Lancers (8-10), who are seventh in Division I in turnover margin (5.6 a game), forced 27 turnovers to win for the first time in three games. Longwood committed 17 turnovers.

Leading 41-36 at halftime, Longwood opened the second half on a 6-0 run for a 47-36 advantage with 18:30 remaining.

Savannah State (9-9), which had won two straight games, cut the lead to 77-73 on Tracy Rankins' layup with 1:41 left, but Swecker hit a 3-pointer for an 80-73 advantage and Longwood sealed the win at the line.

Dana Smith added 15 points and Billy Robinson Jr. finished with 11 points for the Lancers.

Anthony Jones led Savannah State with 21 points. Rankins finished with 12 points and Jovonni Shuler added 11.
