    DURHAM, N.H. -- Malik Alvin scored a season-high 22 points and Binghamton's defense harassed New Hampshire all night as the first-place Bearcats beat the Wildcats 60-47 Thursday night in America East.

    Binghamton (12-7, 5-2) used a 2-3 zone to hold New Hampshire to 28 percent from the floor for the game, including 4 of 27 from 3-point range.

    Tyrece Gibbs led New Hampshire (7-10, 2-3) with 17 points and Tyrone Conley had 10.

    New Hampshire led 27-25 before Binghamton closed the half on an 8-1 run for a 33-28 lead.

    Then Alvin, the only Bearcat in double figures, took over. He scored 17 of his points after the break as the lead reached 15. When the Wildcats closed to 49-41, Alvin scored seven points in a span of 1:58 as Binghamton scored eight straight.
