VESTAL, N.Y. -- D.J. Rivera scored 23 points as Binghamton rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to beat Maine 83-77 in America East basketball on Saturday.
Mark Socoby led Maine with 17 points.
With Binghamton struggling on offense and trailing by 14 points with 17:09 left to play in the second half, Rivera led a 25-7 run that turned a 47-33 Maine lead into a 58-54 Binghamton lead in a little more than six minutes.
Maine (8-13, 3-5) kept within striking distance until the game's final minute. Binghamton had a 71-70 lead when Alvin scored a 3-pointer with 2:38 left, giving Binghamton a two-possession cushion.
Rivera hit a layup in traffic with 47 seconds left and the Bearcats sank 5-of-6 free throws in the final 37 second to seal the win.
