FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Nick Larson converted a four-point play with 23.1 seconds left in regulation and Northern Arizona held on for a 67-64 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday.
Northern Arizona's
Matt Johnson led all scorers with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while teammate
Shane Johannsen, who sealed the win with a pair of free throws with less than a second left in the game, had a career-high 10 rebounds.
Larson finished with eight points.
Jabril Banks and
Will Figures had 14 points apiece for Northern Colorado.
Northern Arizona (6-14, 3-6 Big Sky Conference) led 41-28 to start the second half thanks to a 7-0 run sparked by a
Jermaine Bishop layup in traffic.
The Bears (9-14, 5-5) answered with a 9-0 run over the next 2:09 to climb back into the game.
Northern Colorado chipped away at the lead over the next several minutes, then pulled ahead 59-57 with 6:38 left on a
Mike Proctor basket.
The Bears had a chance to make it a two-possession game with 1:06 left, but turned the ball over on a shot clock violation, setting up Larson's heroics.
The win snaps the Lumberjacks three-game home losing streak.
