NEW ORLEANS -- Jermaine Taylor made two free throws with 9 seconds left in overtime to lift Central Florida to a 79-74 victory over Tulane on Saturday.
Taylor, who was eighth in the nation in scoring at 23.7 points entering the game, scored 28 points. He hit five 3-pointers for the Knights (15-6, 5-2 Conference USA), who won their fifth consecutive game and tenth in their past 11 games.
Taylor has led the Knights in scoring in 20 of their 21 games.
Central Florida outscored Tulane 15-10 in overtime. Taylor scored seven of the Knights' final 10 points.
Kevin Sims, who led Tulane (9-11, 3-4) with 21 points, hit two free throws with 52 seconds left to send the game into overtime -- tied at 64-64.
Eric Vianny scored 17 points and Daniel Puckett added 14 for Tulane.
