DeLand, Fla. -- A.J. Smith scored 32 points to lead Stetson in an 82-71 win over Belmont on Monday night.
Garfield Blair added 19 points and Kris Thomas 16 for the Hatters (10-11, 7-6 Atlantic Sun Conference). Smith also hit six of a school-record 12 attempts from beyond the arc, grabbed nine rebounds and tallied five assists.
The Bruins led by six points at the break, but Stetson rallied in the second half to seal the win. The Hatters shot 54.5 percent from the field (18 of 33) in the second, while the Bruins hit just 34.5 percent (10 of 29) in the period.
Down seven points with eight minutes remaining in the second, the Hatters went on a 17-2 run over a five minute period and never looked back.
The win snapped Stetson's seven-game losing streak to Belmont.
