KENNESAW, Ga. -- James Florence scored 20 points to lead five Mercer players in double figures as the Bears defeated Kennesaw State for the second time in seven days, 75-56 on Thursday night.
The Bears (12-11, 6-6 Atlantic Sun Conference), who beat the Owls 88-75 on Jan. 29, held Kennesaw State (6-15, 2-10) to the second-lowest point total by an opponent this season.
The Owls (6-15, 2-10) have lost five straight and 13 of their last 14 games.
Mercer hit its first four shots, including three 3-pointers, to lead 11-3. The Bears led 35-21 at halftime and by as many as 26 points at 58-32 with 10:42 left.
Brian Mills scored 14 points for the Bears, 12 in the first half, and had a career-high four assists. Michael Ellis posted a career-high 13 points, while E.J. Kusnyer added 12 points and Daniel Emerson had 11.
Kurtis Woods led the Owls with 24 points.
