East Carolina 89, UCF 75

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Jamar Abrams scored 25 points, hitting five of East Carolina's 15 3-pointers, to lead the Pirates to an 89-75 win over Central Florida on Saturday night.

Abrams was 10 of 12 from the field, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range, to help the Pirates (12-10, 4-5 Conference USA) shoot 63 percent (29 of 46).

East Carolina built a 43-33 halftime lead and missed only six shots from the field in the second half (13 of 19) to put away the Knights (15-8, 5-4).

The Pirates were 15 of 24 from the 3-point line (62.5 percent).

Sam Hinnant added 18 points, James Legan scored 13 and Brock Young and Jontae Sherrod added 12 points each for the Pirates. Legan, who entered the game leading the nation in assists, dished out nine.

Jermaine Taylor scored 24 points, Kenrick Zondervan added 19 and Tony Davis had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Central Florida.
