GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Troy Cotton's 3-pointer with 3:15 remaining snapped a 65-65 tie and sent Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 72-68 Horizon League victory over rival Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday.
Rahmon Fletcher followed Cotton's huge 3 by slicing through the Panthers' defense for a layup to give Green Bay (19-6, 11-2) a 70-65 lead. James Eayrs, who made several clutch plays for Milwaukee (14-9, 9-4), converted in the post for a three-point play to cut it to 70-68.
Green Bay's Mike Schachtner hit one of two free throws on the ensuing possession to make it 71-68, and Milwaukee called timeout with 14.2 seconds remaining.
Boyle, however, missed everything on a 3-pointer -- begging for a foul as he lay on the floor -- and Schachtner hit a free throw with three seconds left to ice it.
