Taylor hits 10-footer with 1.3 seconds left as Missouri hands KU first Big 12 loss
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Intimidated by its own fans early, Missouri (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 17 AP) settled down in time to knock off bitter border rival Kansas.Zaire Taylor hit a 10-footer from just outside the lane with 1.3 seconds to go, capping the Tigers' comeback from a 14-point halftime deficit in a 62-60 victory over No. 16 Kansas on Monday night.
• Zaire Taylor made a jump shot with 1.3 seconds left to cap a game-ending 11-2 run and give Missouri its 16th straight home victory and fourth straight victory overall.
• Missouri scored a season-low 16 points in the first half and trailed by 14 at the break, but the Tigers outscored the Jayhawks 46-30 in the second half.
• Bill Self lost to the Tigers for just the third time in 12 games as Jayhawks coach since his first season in 2003-04.
• DeMarre Carroll had 22 points and seven rebounds to lead the Tigers, who snapped a five-game losing streak in the series.
