VESTAL, N.Y. -- D.J. Rivera and Emanuel Mayben combined for 52 points to lead Binghamton to an 88-75 victory over Albany on Monday night.

It was the fourth straight win and the sixth in seven games for Binghamton (16-8, 9-3 America East), moving the Bearcats within a half-game of first-place Boston University in the America East Conference.

    Tim Ambrose scored a game-high 28 points for Albany (13-11, 5-6).

Mayben scored 15 of his 25 points in the first half as the Bearcats raced to a 48-32 lead. Rivera then netted 15 of his 27 points in the second half as Binghamton shot 54 percent to thwart any comeback bid.

Reggie Fuller added 17 points and eight rebounds for Binghamton.
