MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Jordan Bitzer sank a jump shot with 32 seconds left to put Central Michigan ahead for good in a 57-55 win over Miami of Ohio on Thursday night.
After Bitzer's shot gave the Chippewas a 56-55 lead, Miami's
Adam Fletcher missed a jumper with seven seconds left, and Central Michigan's
Robbie Harman grabbed the rebound.
Fouled with two seconds remaining,
Marcus Van sank one of two free throws to seal the win for the Chippewas (7-15, 4-6 Mid-American).
Van had 18 points and seven rebounds. Bitzer added 13 points and was 3-for-5 from 3-point range.
Miami's
Michael Bramos scored 24 points on 9-for-13 field-goal shooting -- including 3-for-4 from 3-point range.
Tyler Dierkers added 10 points for the RedHawks (14-8, 7-3).
Miami led 28-27 after a first half that saw numerous lead changes.
