CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Stephen McDowell scored 19 points and Chattanooga defeated Elon 76-54 on Thursday night.
McDowell, who was 5-for-9 from 3-point line, set the school record for career 3s with his second basket from behind the arc, surpassing 209 made by Keddric Mays.
After trailing 32-28 late in the first half, Chattanooga (13-13, 8-6 Southern Conference) scored 15 straight points to lead 43-32 on two free throws by Khalil Hartwell with 16:37 left in the game.
Nicchaeus Doaks added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Mocs. With his fourth board, Doaks became Chattanooga's leading rebounder at 747 since it moved to Division I. Kevin Goffney chiped in 15 and Hartwell added 12.
