BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Tyrone Lewis scored 14 points to lead Niagara to a 57-41 win over Canisius Thursday night.

Niagara (20-6, 11-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) took command of the game in the first half with an 18-4 run. A field goal by Bilal Benn gave the Purple Eagles a 23-10 lead with 7:47 left in the half.

Canisius (7-18, 2-13 MAAC) rallied behind an 11-3 second-half run, pulling to within seven on a 3-pointer by Greg Logins that made it 41-34 with 14:25 left. But the Golden Griffins scored just one more field goal the rest of the night.

Benn finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Purple Eagles, who have won their last six games by an average of 16 points. Anthony Nelson added 10 points and seven assists.

Logins led Canisius with 20 points. The Golden Griffins logged their sixth straight loss and matched their season-low scoring output.
