SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Senior center Divaldo Mbunga's 16 points and eight rebounds helped Montana State to a 69-54 victory over Sacramento State on Saturday night.

Will Bynum and Erik Rush had 14 points each for the Montana State Bobcats (12-11, 6-6), who remain tied for fifth place with Idaho State in the Big Sky Conference.

Loren Leath had 19 points and five rebounds and Randy Adams added 10 points and six boards for the Sacramento State Hornets (2-24, 1-12 Big Sky), who finished with a 2-11 record in the Hornets Nest.

Behind 16-7, the Hornets staged a 10-2 run, topped off with a lay up by Justin Eller to trail the Bobcats by one point with 9:21 left in first half. The Bobcats outscored the Hornets 9-6 the rest of the way to lead 27-23 at halftime.

Mbunga's tip-in put the Bobcats up by 13 points in the second half. But the Hornets rallied back to cut Montana State's lead 52-48 on a trey by Leath with 5:47 left to play.

After being fouled on his two-handed dunk, Erik Rush completed the three-point play with a free throw to move the Bobcats' lead back to 11 points with 1:17 remaining the game. The Bobcats were never threatened again.
