CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Gerald Robinson Jr. scored 25 points and Jerrell Houston recorded a double-double to lead Tennessee State to an 88-80 win on Saturday night.

Darius Cox added 20 points, while Houston scored 14 and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Tigers (7-17, 5-9 Ohio Valley Conference). Emmanuel Gaiter chipped in with 11 points.

Drake Reed led the Governors (14-10, 10-4) with 30 points, while Wes Channels and Caleb Brown added 11 apiece.

The Tigers jumped out to an 11-2 lead to open the game, cruising to a 36-25 halftime advantage. The Governors fought back in the second, getting to within five points, 77-72, with less than one minute left, but the Tigers hit nine free throws in the final 42 seconds to seal the win.

Both teams were cold from beyond the arc, hitting four 3-pointers each, but the Tigers attempted 11 shots compared to 20 for the Governors.
