SHREVEPORT, La. -- David DuBois scored 19 points, including the game-winning free throws with 5 seconds left, to lift Western Illinois to a 55-54 victory over Centenary on Saturday.
DuBois was fouled by Jerrald Bonham with Centenary leading 54-53. DuBois hit both shots from the foul line to give the Leathernecks (9-17, 6-9 Summit League) their second win in three games.Gary Redus II gave Centenary (7-19, 5-9) a 54-52 lead with 1:23 left, but Western Illinois' Josh Rivers hit one of his two free-throw attempts to cut the advantage to 54-53 with 1:07 left.The Leathernecks didn't hit a field goal in the final 3:14.Rivers scored 18 points and David Nurse added 10 points for Western Illinois.Chase Adams scored 13 points and had seven rebounds for the Gents, who have lost five consecutive games. Nick Stallings and Redus scored 12 points each.
