KENT, Ohio -- Al Fisher scored 18 points and Mike McKee hit two clinching free throws with 9 seconds left to lead Kent State over Central Michigan 61-57 on Saturday night.

The Golden Flashes (14-11, 7-4 Mid-American Conference) were up by 14 points with 8:41 left before the Chippewas (7-16, 4-7) drew to 59-57 with 10 seconds remaining on two foul shots by Marcus Van, who led Central with 18 points.

The Chippewas fouled McKee on the inbounds pass and he hit both shots to push the lead to four points. After Robbie Harman missed a 3-pointer, McKee missed two more free throws with one second left.

Jordan Bitzer added 16 points and Harman had 11 for Central, which led only for a short time early in the game. Van had 10 rebounds.

The Golden Flashes held a 35-28 advantage on the boards, with Julian Sullinger grabbing eight and Anthony Simpson and Brandon Parks seven apiece.
